Abstract

Abstract:

This research explores a crucial topic in the field of sustainable architecture. The study aims to examine the relationship between flexible and sustainable architectural design and how these principles can be applied in various architectural projects to meet both current and future user needs. The research presents several case studies that illustrate how sustainability techniques, such as renewable energy, material recycling, and eco-friendly design, are integrated with flexibility in spatial distribution, climate adaptation, and the functional evolution of buildings, The research relies on the descriptive-analytical methodology and the analysis of selected case studies from several sustainable and flexible architectural projects. The analysis covers several architectural projects, such as "The Crystal" in London, "KfW Westarkade" in Frankfurt, and "Medibank Building" in Melbourne. It highlights how design flexibility is achieved in these projects and how they benefit from sustainable technologies like smart energy systems, adaptable designs, and the use of sustainable materials. The study also delves into the factors that make buildings flexible, including expansion capacity, space reallocation, and adaptability to future changes. . The research concludes with recommendations for practitioners in the architectural field on how to balance sustainability and flexibility to keep up with future developmentsThe research then provides recommendations for practitioners in the architectural field on how to balance building sustainability and flexibility to keep pace with future developments.
